As a Project Manager you will report to the Vice President, Operations and be directly involved in office preconstruction activities combined with on-site project management and supervision responsibilities. You will typically be assigned to between one and three projects, depending upon size, at any one time. You will have primary responsibility for customer satisfaction and the cost, quality, detail, schedule and safety performance of projects under your management. Project Managers at DBD Structures are typically assigned to the project site during the course of construction. You will be assigned construction engineer and superintendent personnel as project size and complexity dictates.
Candidates must posses a university degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture combined with a minimum of eight years of employment experience with a general contractor in a commercial building environment. The position requires equal skill and interest in the coordination of personnel and sub trades in the field as well as in office management functions. Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in a variety of project types and preferably possess documented design/build experience. Your previous project experience should include some combination of renovation/redevelopment of existing buildings (including mid and high-rise structures), seismic/structural upgrades, ground up construction and interior tenant improvements. A strong commitment to honesty and passionate attention to detail is essential to your success with the Company.
It is important that candidates have concept through completion skills including management of the design process, subcontract bidding, value engineering, scheduling and cost control. As a Project Manager, you will have substantial, direct contact with the Company's customers, therefore well established written and verbal communication abilities combined with articulate personal presentation skills are important. DBD Structures provides laptops for each employee and operates a Citrix VPN which connects all of our jobsites to the main office in real-time. As a result, technology skills are a necessity.
